HIGH SPEED BOATING ACCIDENTS

Speed Increases Unpredictability

Over the years much like roadway vehicles when you add speed to the mix with motor powered machines many variables come into play. When speed is increased the amount of reaction time needed to precent an accident and injury is reduced drastically.

You will most often see that most boating accidents on the news is directly related to speed and boating collisions. There is a gentleman rule of 65 mph for boating which was set ages ago, but is not an actual law on most waterways. While boats can be stopped for dangerous activity there technically is no speed limit for most boats on waterways.

It can almost be certain that the use of a kill switch and a life jacket saved the lives of the boaters & anglers in these videos. The combination of these two is detrimental to keeping yourself and those aboard safe. It should be a habit to do this each time you operate a powered watercraft.

Luckily none of the passengers and boaters in the videos shared here lost their lives & came away with minimal injuries.

102 MPH Boat Crash

In this video you can see that speed is the #1 factor for this crash. Once a boat begins to wobble at speeds this high there is no way to slow down its momentum and force.

Boat Jumps Wake at High Speed

Here once again you will see this boater testing speeds back and forth on flat water. The part where this driver messed up is when he chose to jump wake at high speeds. When the boat is airborn it loses all control of steering.
